Intended Use
In vitro diagnostic reagents for the Qualitative or Semi-Quantitave determination of Antistreptolysin O (ASO) anti body in human serum by means of agglutination.
Background
Streptolysin O is liberated from infection by B-hemolytic Streptococci this stimulates the production of Antistreptolysin O antibodies. The Levels of these antibodies indicates the degree of infection.increase in ASO titre occurs one to four weeks after onset of infection. As the Infection subside the titre declines and returns to normal levels within Six months. If the titre does not decrease a recurrent or chronic infection may exist.
